Deleting Your Account

How to delete your Wika account and everything attached to it — what goes, what stays, and what to do first.

Effective 26 August 2026

Last updated 26 August 2026

Deletion is initiated in the app, at Settings › Privacy & AI › Delete account. This page is here for anyone who cannot get in, and for the record of what deletion removes. See Privacy Policy §7.

In plain terms

Delete your account in the app at Settings › Privacy & AI › Delete account, or email us if you are locked out. It happens immediately, in one transaction, and cannot be undone. Cancel any subscription through Apple first — deleting your Wika account does not cancel it, and afterwards you will have no account to check it against.

01Deleting from inside the app

Settings › Privacy & AI › Delete account.

You will be asked to confirm. The deletion then happens immediately — it is not a request queued for review, and there is no waiting period during which you could change your mind.

Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

02If you cannot get into the app

Email marketing@wikaph.com from the address on your Wika account, with "delete my account" in the subject. We will verify that you control the address before acting, then delete the account and confirm when it is done.

If you have lost access to the account email itself, say so — we will ask for whatever else can establish that the account is yours.

03What deletion removes

Everything below is deleted immediately, in a single transaction:

  • Your profiledisplay name, avatar, selected dialect, and your recorded AI consent
  • Your sign-in credentialsincluding any linked Apple or Google identity
  • Learning historylesson completions, course progress, and the underlying learning events
  • Streaks, XP, rank, and league standings
  • Wallet, gold, hearts, and their full transaction history
  • Boosters and badges
  • Missionsboth daily and weekly
  • Your dictionaryevery word earned
  • Dialecto conversation history
  • Bug reports and support ticketseverything you have submitted

If any part fails, none of it is applied — you are told the deletion did not complete rather than being left with a half-deleted account.

04What deletion does not do

It does not cancel your subscription

An auto-renewing subscription is billed by Apple, not by Wika, and deleting your Wika account does not touch it. Cancel it separately in Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions on your device, before deleting your account — afterwards you will have no Wika account to check it against.

It does not refund anything

Remaining subscription time, gold, and hearts are forfeited. See the Subscription Terms for how refunds work.

It does not reach backups instantly

Deleted data persists in encrypted backups until those backups age out on their normal cycle. It is not restored to live systems, and it is not used for anything.

It does not retract what was already sent to a third party

Messages already processed by Google or Cartesia, and recordings already transcribed by Groq, are governed by those providers' own retention. They are named, with what each of them receives, in Privacy Policy §4, and Privacy Policy §5A sets out what the Dialecto AI path sends. Deleting your Wika account stops anything further being sent; it does not reach backwards into their systems.

We may retain a minimal record

Where the law requires it — for example a transaction record for tax purposes, or a record of an account terminated for abuse so it cannot simply be re-registered. Such a record is kept to the minimum that the purpose requires and is not used for anything else.

05Alternatives to deleting

You may not need to delete the whole account:

  • Turn off DialectoSettings › Privacy & AI › Dialecto AI. Revokes AI consent, keeps everything else.
  • Turn off voice uploadSettings › Privacy & AI › Voice upload. Dialecto keeps working, text-only.
  • Turn off remindersSettings › Notifications.
  • Export your data — ask at the address below. Privacy Policy §8 sets out your data portability right.

06Your other rights

The Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 gives you rights of access, correction, objection, erasure, and data portability. Privacy Policy §8 sets out how to exercise each of them.
