Philippine language app adds 2,038 learners and completes 14,356 lessons in the month

MANILA, Philippines, October 2026. In July and August, Wika PH was in beta. Forty-eight learners were active, they completed 281 lessons, and on the busiest day only seven people were active. Throughout September, the app reached a far wider audience, and the numbers changed by orders of magnitude: 4,790 downloads on the Apple App Store, 2,038 new learners, and 14,356 lessons completed, more than 50 times the beta total.

Wika PH is a language learning mobile app built for Philippine regional languages. It teaches Tagalog, Cebuano, Ilocano, Asi and Hiligaynon through short lessons, quizzes and daily streaks, in a product designed around Filipino culture rather than a generic template. Its audience is wide: learners in Luzon, Metro Manila, the Visayas and Mindanao, and a large community of Filipinos and friends of Filipino culture abroad.

All figures in this release describe the entire month of September 2026, from September 1 to September 30, Manila time.

September figures cover the entire month, from September 1 to September 30, 2026, Manila time. Beta figures cover July and August 2026. Learning and account figures come from Wika PH's production database, and download figures come from Apple's App Store Connect analytics, which count first-time downloads. Founder, team, intern and test accounts are excluded from learning and account figures. An active learner is anyone who completed at least one learning event on the day, or within the week or month being measured. The Android figure reflects testers in the Google Play beta and is reported by the Wika PH team.
